Historically the Settlers Hall was hand painted with Oratia Settlers Hall.  This traditional hand signwriting craft is showing a renaissance in recent years.  A great sign can add to a sense of place, create a gateway, and is a piece of art.  Here are some beautiful examples.

Hand painted murals  in Louisville Kentucky. A true collaboration took place on this one with the design coming from Bryan Patrick Todd, and the sign painting was done by Kirby Stafford.  via Campsite Studio

Massachusetts  museum MASS Moca ,a converted industrial building in brick has similarities to our hall.     Should this be the direction for signage on our Settlers Hall?
