Tomorrow – White Night on the Roof

Robin Kewell from the Settlers’ Film Club presents White Night on th Roof.  Tomorrow Night Saturday 14th March, films start at 8-15 approx (when it’s dark) an hour programme consisting of three short films ( 1 hour in total approx) Bring your bean bag and/or cushions and settle down on the rooftop for a music and visual treat.  Admission by Koha, suitable for all ages. If wet or windy the event will sadly have to be cancelled.

‘Paradise’ by Ishu Patel. (NFB1984) No computer graphics here, all hand painted, this film was nominated for an Academy award and is an absolute treat for the eyes and ears (16 mins) 
‘Layers in Time’ a film challenge from musician composer Ailsa Roberts. Ailsa is deaf, she wondered how selected artists would respond to her music, the music influencing them to create a piece of work, would their interpretation match the images she had in her head when composing the works, ‘Rapt in Stone’ was composed and recorded for Robin Kewell who produced the 15 minute film 
‘First Breath’, a film based around a live music performance, recordings of 1000 voices and 5 months in the studio…this result from Musician/Composer Jim Carey is a 28 minutes crazy choral work to which film-maker Robin Kewell added images from selected footage from his travels around the world.
