It gives us leverage to advocate much more strongly to government for more broadband funds and to put pressure on Chorus to put more of their profits back into infrastructure provision. Council have identified ay least 90 communities across the region that don’t have adequate digital connection. It’s not good enough for the largest populated area to be so underprovisioned.
