We are pretty invisible to most locals, but we’re trying to change that!

 

The Oratia R&R champions essential local projects like road safety initiatives, pest control, and promoting native wildlife conservation, including kererū protection and planting campaigns.

We also support other local community groups (The Bowling Club, Oratia School etc) and work with Council on local issues.

 

Membership is easy, with no fees, simply attend a minimum of one meeting a year. You’ll gain voting rights at the AGM, giving you a platform to propose exciting new projects and strategies.

Importantly, you’ll also be supporting the invaluable community volunteers who run the halls, creating accessible spaces for local groups and activities.

Without your involvement, these halls could return to council management, leading to higher rental costs, strict access policies, and reduced affordability for everyone.
