Community Venue for Hire
The Ōrātia Small Hall is a heritage building built by original settlers as a church. There is good indoor/outdoor flow between the Hall and the Playground.
Popular for children’s parties due to the fenced area and playground, it is also suitable for events such as weddings, birthday parties, community gatherings, etc.
Includes kitchen facilities, tables and chairs.
Maximum capacity is 60 people (and depends on layout).
Please note: Your hire time includes all setup and packdown/cleaning time.
If you are planning on a short hire (4-5 hours), your hire usually needs to either end by 1.00pm or start at 1.30pm or after.
The hall is very popular and we try to fit two functions in a day if possible.

| The Space | The hall is bright, intimate and cosy – while being very functional for smaller gatherings. There is a lovely view from the side windows to the public Oratia domain next door. With polished wooden floors (and lino in the kitchen and bathrooms), curtains and heat pumps, it is suitable all year round. It has its own basic kitchen (not commercial grade) and service window to the main hall. The kitchen has an oven/stove top, microwave, fridge/freezer, hot water urn and pie warmer. No crockery, cutlery or serveware is provided. Trestle tables and chairs are included – along with fold down seating around two of the walls. Bathrooms have one toilet each and a baby changing table. The fully fenced playground is outside the front doors – making this a safe and secure play space. There is also space beside the playground for a bouncy castle. |

| Important Stats: | The hall has a maximum capacity of 60 people (this is a strict fire regulation). However 60 people will be a tight squeeze, particularly if you are seating people at tables. Hall dimensions are: Main area is 10.5m x 6.5m. The ceiling height is at least 4 metres at the lowest point and 8m at the highest. There are multiple power points – but you will need to bring your own extension leads. |
